I’ve Been on Both Sides of the Camera
Before becoming a photographer, I spent years working as an actor. I know what it feels like to stand in front of a camera—the anticipation, the vulnerability and the slightly strange experience of being told to “just relax”.
Moving behind the camera felt like a natural transition. Acting taught me how to read people, understand a story and recognise the moments that can disappear in a second. It also taught me that the best performances rarely come from forcing something; they happen when people feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
That experience shapes the way I photograph today. Whether I’m working with a model, performer, creative team or someone who usually avoids cameras altogether, I provide direction without taking away their personality. Having spent so long in front of the lens, I now know how to create something honest, characterful and engaging from behind it.
